Program Description:  The Direct Install program is an incentive program sponsored by Eversource and Mass Save. This program assists small commercial businesses with the upgrade of electric and gas measures to options with higher efficiency which uses less energy and saves the business money.  The list of available equipment within the program is extensive, however LED lighting and controls, refrigeration, HVAC, pipe insulation, steam trap maintenance and faucet aerator replacements are all included to name a few.  Depending on the efficiency upgrades applicable for the location, businesses can expect to save a high percentage on their monthly electric bills and financing is available.

Program Name:  Quartile 3-Business Energy Advantage

Program Size:  Q3 BEA

Program Description:  The Business Energy Advantage program is an incentive program sponsored by Eversource and Mass Save. This program is available to medium sized business in need of a turnkey solution for a comprehensive energy upgrade.  This program offers low interest financing and a quick return on investment for all upgrades.  Utility incentives are offered to offset costs of upgrading inefficient equipment to modern, efficient, money saving options.

Program Name:  Large Commercial Industrial (LCI)

Program Size:  Large Business

Program Description:  The Large Commercial and Industrial program is a turnkey solution program which provides equipment rebates and discounts for large existing commercial and industrial buildings.  These projects are highly customized in their approach.  The entire building, or campus of buildings are reviewed for all standard, custom and process energy efficiency improvements.  Due to the high amount of energy used, the Large Commercial and Industrial program has the greatest opportunity to provide instant and long term savings for businesses.

Program Name:  S.M.A.R.T Program

Program Description:  The Solar Massachusetts Renewable Target Program was created by the state’s Department of Energy Resources to promote solar system adoption within the state of Massachusetts and provide incentives to commercial businesses to assist them with adoption.  The tariff-based incentive is paid to the system owner by their utility company after the approval of the application by the Solar Program Administrator and DOER.  Solar arrays are designed and installed making the location an energy producer thereby minimizing energy cost for the facility and also adding electrical production to the grid.  In addition, solar arrays may be paired with energy storage through the use of battery back up systems to assist businesses in controlling demand charges.  When battery backup is incorporated into the project, energy is produced and stored for a later time to offset peak demand and the associated charges.   This is a highly beneficial solution for Massachusetts rate payers who experience some of the highest rate and demand charges in the country.

Program Name:  EV Make-Ready Program

Program Description: Eversource’s EV Make Ready program assists Massachusetts business customers in creating a clean transportation future by providing financial assistance to those who would like to install electric vehicle charging stations at select locations in Eversource’s service territory.   Infrastructure costs are covered by the program and can be paired with other state programs to cover much of the cost of the project.
